Demo update (v10)

The main feature of this update is the addition of a new tutorial - how to go through doors fast.

If you previously found the doors difficult - please give the demo another try to see if the new tutorial helps.

The tutorial will show up once at least 4 points are obtained to avoid overloading the player with initial tutorials and show some gameplay first.

The goal of the added tutorial is to address the 2 main issues I kept noticing around door navigation:

  • Players were struggling to deal with doors efficiently and got frustrated in part because of that;
  • It was unclear to players why the control scheme has been set up the way it is (at least by default).
    • The tutorial won't say this explicitly so I can do it here for the developers who are interested - efficient pull-type interactions require 3 interaction button presses - taking control of the door (Space by default), switching sides (Space by default) and releasing the door (Left Alt by default). Space-Space-Left Alt simply requires less finger movement than Space-Left Alt-Space, and the buttons are safer to mash than toggle-style controls.
    • The same is true when dealing with keycards, keycodes and opening buttons (any door opening direction), though this likely won't be seen by somebody only playing the first few demo missions.
    • There is also an option to swap interaction/exit buttons (my first attempt to solve the issue) but it was never recommended as it addressed the complained without addressing the underlying cause. Should probably remove it in the full game.

P.S. The full game will be released on Steam (at least at first, can add more stores later if it proves useful).
